Blue Tomato Railbattle Tour 2016

Rail Battle Tour 2016

We’re taking it to the streets – We are pleased to announce our new real-street event tour 2016: The Blue Tomato Rail Battle Tour!

Out of the skate park and into the city: We are going to set up a custom-made Blue Tomato handrail at a famous stair spot in your town for a best-trick session. At every stop all competitors are in for an overall price money of 1.000€ cash.

Recap Rail Battle Tour 2016 Vienna

On June 18 we equipped the 7-stair sopt at Donauzentrum Vienna with the custom- made Blue Tomato handrail for a best trick session with an overall price money of 1.000 €.

The almost 20 contestants came from all of Vienna and the nearby area and there were even more spectators and pedestrians watching the session. So a good atmosphere was taken care of.

Within the 60 minutes of the Jam Session the contestants showed countless great tricks. And some might say that Vienna was the tourstop with the most and the most thecnically challenging tricks of the whole tour.

After their appearance in Bregenz Blue Tomato teamrider Tobi Fleischer and his crew again came all the way from Munich.
In the end the 3 winners were those who stood out the most:

3rd place: Marcel Rieger / The trird place remained in the capital! Already during warm up Marcel went all out on the rail and was a real crowd pleaser due to his speacial style. Pulling off a nohanded fastplant - a trick none of the attendants has ever seen live - he was rewarded with 150€.

2nd place: Tobi Fleischer / After a luckless day at our tourstop in Bregenz Tobi and his tricks were on point from the beginning. After a couple of basics to warm up Tobi was one oft the firt to flip onto the rail and stood - after a little fight - "his" 3650 flip lipslide - 200€ went to the dude from Munich!

1st place: Vincent Van Essen / Vincent, who actually is from Osnabrück (GER), took part quite sontaneously as he was on a skatetrip to Vienna with his freinds at the time. Only a few rode the rail "the hard way" from the more difficult side. Without hesitating he pulled off a Crooked Nollie Kickflip Out. That was by far the most technically challenging trick of the whole tour and it was obvious that he would win this stop. Well deserved!

Many thanks to everyone who was involved, the Donauzentrum Vienna and the locals for a great last stop of the Blue Tomato #railbattletour - see you all in 2017!

Recap Rail Battle Tour 2016 Bregenz

On June we again equipped a 7-stair sopt at the Wolford Boutique Bregenz with the custom- made Blue Tomato handrail for a best trick session with an overall price money of 1.000 €.

Almost 20 contestants and over 50 spectators came to this tourstop although really bad weather with a 90% chance of rain was forecast. But Peter was obviously a supporter of the Rail Battle Tour and so we escaped the rain and the sun even came out a little at about halftime.

In the end the 3 winners were those who stood out the most:

3rd place: Patric Wolf / Patric is from the nearby city Feldkirch and actually known for his gap-skills but he didn't shy away from the Blue Tomato Rail. He quickly pulled of a Hardflip and a Bigspin Boardslide on the rail. His Fs 360 Pop Shove it saved him third place even after a Set-up Pit Stop due to a broken axle.

2nd place: Peter Eich / Peter is one of the dudes in Tobi Fleischers crew and works every street rail he can find on a daily basis. After some basics to warm up he ventured on the very tecnical Bigspin Flip Fs Boardslide with whom he fought for some time. He didn't give in and after 20 minutes he stood the trick - 2nd place well deserved!

1st place: Marcus Eich / Marcus alswell came with Tobi and as the name might tell, he is the twin of 2nd placed Peter! Marcus at first shocked the audience as he sat himselt on his upright board which eventually broke a little. But a real bavarian warrior there's nothing to stop a real bavarian warrior and Marcus kept trying until he finally pulled off a Varial Heelflip Bs Lipslide. A sick trick and obviously the winner of this session! Congrats Marcus!

Many thanks to everyone who was involved, Peter the weathergod and the locals for a great third stop of the Blue Tomato #railbattletour!

Recap Rail Battle Tour 2016 Essen

On May 21 we again equipped the Blaupark Doubleset in Oberhausen with the custom-made Blue Tomato handrail for a best trick session with an overall price money of 1.000 €.

People cam from the whole Ruhr area and in the end there were almost 25 contestants and more than 70 spectators who ensured a great atmosphere during the Best Trick Session. Another reason was probably Lubomir "L-Pav" Pavlov who was the speaker of the session and who cheered up the crowd enormously.

In the end the 3 winners were those who stood out the most:

3rd place: Martin Huppertz / Martin is no unknown guest at contests and sessions of all sorts. With stylish tricks like Bs Lipslide, Bs Bluntside und Fs Bluntside he quickly showed his skills on the rail. His personal highlight was the battle between him and Kalle Zollino for the perfect Crooked to Bs Lipslide. That trick and a diffrent board evetually brought him 3rd place.

2nd place: Jan Berkemeier / The Essen local has spent a lot of time on a board already and was able to quickly secure two tricks (Fs Lipslide and Fs Bluntside) right at the beginning. He also had to fight with his final move though. After many failed tries he was finally able to stand "his" Switch Bs Feeble Revert and take home 2nd place.

1st place: Samuel Beyer / "From the car onto the rail" was the motto of the Aachen legend Samuel Beyer. After sign up he started off without hesitating. His first trick was a Fs Boardslide onto the Doublset Handrail. But it needed some extra time for him to finally pull of this winning move in his last try  - the seldomly seen Varial Heelflip Bs Lipslide. Definitely a worty winner of the Best Trick Session. Conrats Samuel!

Many thanks to everyone who was involved and to the locals for an amazing second toursot of the #railbattletour!

Recap Rail Battle Tour 2016 Stuttgart

Last Saturday (07. Mai) we set up the famous 10- stair spot Caleido with our custom- made Blue Tomato handrail for a best trick session with an overall price money of 1.000 € in cash.

Almost all well-known names of Stuttgart´s skate scene showed up, either to skate or to watch the event. Even skaters from Munich weren´t dragged down by the long way and came to the happening. Also Glenn Michelfelder used his 20 minute lunchbreak to join the jam session and casually got in 4th place via a Nosebluntslide.

60 minutes of jam session were enough to produce a serious amount of great tricks.
At the end especially three winners stood out:

3. place: Denis Nitsche / the Stuttgart´s local and Glenn´s roomie had just one mission from the very start: Switch Fs Flip over the handrail. Typically for a best trick session, he landed his trick just almost before he ran out of time - the crowd freaked out!

2. place: Andi Welther / Stuttgart´s legend is always a best trick candidate and he started heavily: First try Bs 50-50 at the rail. Unsurprisingly, he didn´t stop with that and many more awesome moves followed, including a stylish Bluntslide. His highlight, however, was a Switch Fs Tailslide. A trick you don’t see that much. That´s for sure!

Blue Tomato Rail Battle Stuttgar
Mario Ungerer

1. place: Mario Ungerer / traveled especially for this event from Munich to Stuttgart and dominated from the very start. Even in the warm-up he was one of the first who threw themselves on the rail. Especially during the session he did make short work. Mario landed many tricks which deserved the first place, but his Switch Bs Lipslide made the decision easy: First place and 300 € cash – congratulations!

A big thank you to all those involved, particularly to the locals for a great kick-off! #railbattletour is on!
