The cook book for surfers and food lovers
January 2014: Here we go. Finally
After a year of planning their trip, two guys from Hamburg set out to see the world. Both quit their respective jobs, a senior art director at the advertising agency, Jung von Matt (Jo) and a cameraman (Cozy) after scraping their savings together ready for departure. Their luggage consisted of two surfboards, a sharp knife, board shorts and a backpack full of camera equipment. What they also had was a mission - to find the best waves and recipes from Latin America and bind them all together in a cookbook.
May 2015. Here it is.
The book features plenty of street food recipes and regional classics but also food from local cuisine and inspired reinventions. It is also a surf and travel guide with pictures and stories of the best surf spots which Jo and Cozy explored during their journey along the Pacific and Carribean coast. The book also includes anecdotes and adventures which can only happen if you spend a year sticking your nose into the affairs of armed Mexicans, foreign kitchens and massive waves.
These guys are NOW.
They are thinkers and doers. They have goals outside of office life and throw themselves with full commitment into their self-imposed tasks. They are brave and adventurous, curious and open. Pioneers of a new genre, an alluring mix of cookbook, travel stories and surf guide. Always alive, they taste the flavours of Latin American cuisine, they see through the lenses of the camera the beauty in the shabbiest backyard. When you follow them you will see the continent in a whole new way. Hopefully, you'll be inspired to ask: When will I go on my great adventure?
