In its sleek, lightweight package, Rome loaded up on innovative ideas for customizing the Rome Katana to match your unique way of snowboarding. The PivotMount Technologie and the V-Rod Ultralight baseplate make the Katana very lightweight. The straps and D30 baseplate padding enhance your comfort. With the ability to customise flex and pop, this binding rips everything from big summits in the French Alps to park laps in Minnesota.
The Asym FlexChannel Highback is a more flexible option in the lineup, but Rome increased its response slightly for better heelside performance. Cant-In-The-Back II is a Rome-exclusive technology. The unique highback canting allows you to adjust the side-to-side angle of the highback, to match with the angle of your lower leg.
The V-Rod Ultralight Baseplate has only 1.56% of baseplate contact. The V-Rod baseplate minimizes the contact between your binding and your board while controlling for “correct” flex. This gives you a great flex for freestyle riding, while also delivering power edge to edge. The narrow footprint also maximizes the board’s natural flex pattern. The tool-free Yes, I Cant Technology was created to adjust the canting for the baseplate padding system under your foot. The D3O V-Rod SubBase Pad under the baseplate decreases vibration and improves cushioning for a smoother, more comfortable ride. The AsymWrap technology is a heel loop design that focuses on a smooth, flexible feel. Perfect for riders who like to surf freeride terrain and like to tweak out their tricks.
At the Ultralight Ankle Strap, a superlight 3D-pad locks together with a supportive midsection piece when tightened. Lightweight comfort that flexes into full support. New for this season, the Katana features the all-new AuxGrip Toe Straps. Using a single piece injected design, paired with a unique auxetic pattern that stretches and conforms to pressure, these straps are more durable and provide better grip no matter the boot. The Auxetic pattern acts as a series of small hinges, expanding without losing any grip or hold.
The PivotMount Strap Technology system delivers 5 symmetrical positions and 20 additional positions for unmatched control over strap placement and strap support.
Rome SDS lives and breathes snowboarding and has done so since day one. Seeking to reestablish the true roots of snowboarding, Rome kicked off production is 2001. Their goal was to create a brand that "lives the values of snowboarding and innovates products that increase the one thing that matters most in snowboarding: fun." They have overshot their goal by miles, and as true snowboarders at heart, we are stoked to have them as a part of our team.
