Protection and freedom of movement are important for those who spend long days in alpine regions – and it has to be as light weight as possible. Ortovox developed the PELMO SHORTS in the MERINO SHIELD ZERO line especially for the needs of mountain climbers. We’ve left out all superfluous details and concentrated on the most important features, making the PELMO SHORTS for women light and functional.
The short alpine pants impress thanks to their low weight and high breathability – while at the same time providing robustness and elasticity. The merino mesh inserts in the waistband and pocket linings ensure extra comfort in important areas. Small items can be stored in the two pockets, and even in the shorter version of the PELMO SHORTS for women you can easily store a map in the thigh pocket.
For the MERINO SHIELD ZERO collection, ORTOVOX uses a mix of nylon and elastane in the main material. This makes the material exceptionally light and breathable, and at the same time extremely elastic and robust. The MERINO SHIELD ZERO line is water-resistant thanks to DWR treatment.
Material: MAIN MATERIAL: 93 % polyamide + 7 % elastane
LINING: 72 % polyester + 28 % virgin wool (MERINO)
Ortovox came to life when Gerald Kampel and Jürgen Wegner developed the first double frequency transceiver to aid in avalanche victim searches. They have since grown into one of the biggest producers of avalanche safety gear on the market. In 1995 they added merino underwear to their selection, and we have been hooked ever since!
