Our new ALPINIST QUARTER socks are the perfect companions for summer temperatures in the mountains. Why? Simple: fine Merino wool reduces unpleasant foot odors, while synthetic fibers extend durability.
And the ALPINIST QUARTER will also impress with its fit: the mid-depth cut is comfortable at warmer temperatures and is thus perfect with both shorts, long pants or slightly higher climbing boots.
Thanks to the ergonomically optimized right/left socks and the pleasant comfort cuff, it will fit perfectly without slipping. Ankle and arch supports also prevent creasing and keeps the socks where they belong. There is additional padding in the heel and toe area for good cushioning. Greater breathability is ensured by the 360-degree webbing system that runs around the foot area, as well as the cushioning system at sensitive points.
This makes the ALPINIST the ideal companion for your feet, whether in the valley or on demanding tours.
THE NATURAL PARADISE OF TASMANIA
100 % of the merino wool from this collection comes from the Australian island of Tasmania. The wool from this natural paradise is high-quality, thin, and tear-resistant. But just as important for us, this material is ethically and ecologically sound. Ortovox have very high expectations of the farmers. A large portion of their working time is committed to ensuring sustainable farm management and animal welfare.
Material: 56 % polyamide + 42 % virgin wool (MERINO) + 2 % elastane
Ortovox came to life when Gerald Kampel and Jürgen Wegner developed the first double frequency transceiver to aid in avalanche victim searches. They have since grown into one of the biggest producers of avalanche safety gear on the market. In 1995 they added merino underwear to their selection, and we have been hooked ever since!
