FUNCTIONAL, NATURAL, AND SUSTAINABLY COOLING: That’s 150 MERINO COOL. So how does it work? Simple: Ortovox combine two natural fibers, merino wool and Tencel®, a fiber obtained from eucalyptus wood. The Tencel® fiber stands out thanks to its high basic fiber humidity, great evaporative coolness and its flat fiber surface – ensuring that it provides coolness all on its own, without additional chemicals. At the same time, Tencel® products are also particularly LONG-LASTING. 100 % nature on your skin means you are perfectly equipped for either mountain hikes or climbing.
The use of fine Merino wool means that this T-shirt is easy to care for and soft on the skin, as well as odor neutralizing and temperature and moisture regulating. But the 150 COOL MOUNTAIN T-SHIRT is not only functional: Ortovox have spared no effort when it comes to the design. The “MOUNTAIN” print shows the fine ORTOVOX logo with a large classic Alpine ridge: The Biancograt!
THE NATURAL PARADISE OF TASMANIA
100 % of the merino wool from this collection comes from the Australian island of Tasmania. The wool from this natural paradise is high-quality, thin (18 microns at ORTOVOX), and tear-resistant. But just as important for us, this material is ethically and ecologically sound. Ortovox have very high expectations of the farmers. A large portion of their working time is committed to ensuring sustainable farm management and animal welfare.
Material: 52 % virgin wool (MERINO) + 48 % lyocell (Tencel®)
Ortovox came to life when Gerald Kampel and Jürgen Wegner developed the first double frequency transceiver to aid in avalanche victim searches. They have since grown into one of the biggest producers of avalanche safety gear on the market. In 1995 they added merino underwear to their selection, and we have been hooked ever since!
