If you want a ski to do everything look no further. If it is good enough for freeskiing legend Eric Pollard as an everyday ski, it is certainly good enough for you. Line and Pollard have been designing skis together for over a decade, and the Sir Francis Bacon is the culmination of this work. Perfectly versatile and playful the ski is a brilliant example of an all mountain freeride ski.
If you haven't already, google Eric Pollard or his film company Nimbus Independent, and see the man himself put these skis through any terrain. As an all mountain ski the Sir Francis Bacon will ride anything, from deep powder to groomed corduroy and can also throw down in the park.
The Sir Francis Bacon utilises Line's clever 5cut shape, where five different radii shapes are blended into the ski's sidecut. This technology cleverly allows the skis to make different turn shapes, long, medium and short turns are all super easy. With this shape the ski as comfortable blasting long all mountain carves as it is turning on steep spine walls or landing switch in neck deep powder. The 104 mm waist is most at home in deeper snow delivering superior float. However, this width combined with the early taper in the rockered tips and tails means you get control in the deepest snow and hardpack where the effective edge is shortened.
The Sir Francis Bacon has a more subtle early rise in the tip and the tail than its bigger brother the Mordecai, this allows for excellent flotation and a balanced stance in powder snow. Additionally, with the early taper, you get a longer effective edge when riding powder snow.
Despite not being a true symmetrical shape the Sir Francis Bacon has a truly symmetrical flex pattern. Switch pow riding and landings are predictable and solid, plus as the flex is even throughout ollies and popping are also super predictable.
Partly Cloudy Core is a blend of lightweight woods offering the very best strength to weight ration for a powder ski. The sintered base is super fast, and the full vertical sidewalls give the ski excellent grip on steeper terrain or hardpack.

#morefunner - do we need to say more? Line took the freeski market by storm as early as 1995, picking up on the desire among skiers to simply have more fun. They saw the need for twin tip skis, and set about making it a reality. They have been on top of their game since day one and it comes as no surprise that they are backed up by one of the most star-spangled freeride and freestyle teams on the market.
