Travis pushes the envelope on snow and with his boards. Firepower construction is the direct result of his desire for ultralight tip/tails and mid-section of the board while retaining stability and power for committed lines in the world’s gnarliest terrain. The Gold Member was a “Fourth Phase” go to.
This board is designed for riders who like to charge big-mountain lines and won’t shy away from a massive air that comes up on their path.
Directional is the classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or condition. A tapered shape means the nose is wider than the tail, promoting smooth turn entry and exit, stability at speed, and enhanced deep snow flotation. The greater amount of volume in front of you will allow for effortless turning in deep or soft snow and increase the float of your board tremendously. The directional tapered Swallow Tail adds stability and the Pointy Nose increases the float even more with better riding characteristics, especially in powder. The Magne-Traction serrated edges give great edge hold all over the mountain, especially on hard pack and ice. They turn ice into powder.
C2x means narrow rocker between your feet combined with longer elliptical camber sections out to the contact points. Kills everything! Aggressive perfection in turning, jibbing and unreal float in pow combined with a tip to tail control, power, and pop of camber.
The Medium-stiff flex of the Gold Member provides stability at high speeds and insane amounts of control while offering you the power and flexibility you need to stomp the biggest cliffs.
The 'Firepower Construction' FP features a lower spin weight tip and tail, combined with an extended core, thinner tip tail profile, carbon stiffening, and Balsa Tech from Lib Techs High-End Board the Cygnus X1. The core consists of a strong Aspen spine with Columbian Gold on either side for a crisp pop and Paulownia on the toe and heel edges for the smoothest riding core with reduced weight and vibration. Additional Balsa wood reduces the weight even more. Organic volcanic basalt fibers surround the wood core and offer a lively and poppy ride. The flex modulus is synchronized with the resin system for maximum strength and minimum weight. The TnT Base features a fast and low maintenance dual layered fluoro base material. Wax it or maybe skip a day. Birch Internal Sidewalls are placed along the sidewall of your board to add board control to the sandwich construction. Stronger, more pop, and more control. The UHMW Sintered Sidewalls are a Lib Tech innovation. Twice as sintered as any other sidewall. Tough, fast, hard, waterproof, handsome and light. NO TOXIC ABS! Due to the edges, which do not go throughout at tip and tail, these areas are protected by a 'UHMW Tip/Tail impact deflection' system to avoid damage. Finally, the Bio Beans Topsheet features a tough and eco-sublimated layer to complete the construction.
For some 30+ years, Lib Tech has been pushing the limits of innovation in the surf and snow sports industry. With their production still based in the US, they set out to do something different. With new shapes and technologies each year, Lib Tech want riders to have a grin on their face when using their products. A company that never stops changing is something we hugely admire, and doing so whilst keeping an eye on the environment will give you a big thumbs up from us any day of the week.
