The Lone Wolf is Jones' new big gun swallow tail designed by surf shaper Chris Christenson and Jeremy Jones. Blending features of a pow board with the heart of a Super-G race board, the Lone Wolf has a long sidecut and is built to arc big turns in big terrain. SPOON 3.0 base contours and a Directional Rocker profile gives the Lone Wolf serious powder prowess while the narrow waist width, long sidecut, and camber underfoot make it a moon rocket for the aggressive hard pack carver.
This board is built for those that are looking for a board that can handle super-fast freeride runs and precise turns under all conditions.
The Lone Wolf has a directional shape which increases float and stability at speed. Directional is the classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the swallow tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or condition. Take advantage of the Magne-Traction edges to effortlessly link turns that look and feel nice whether they are at high speeds or slow and controlled. The Magne-Traction serrated edges give great edge hold all over the mountain, especially on hard pack and ice. They turn ice into powder. At the far ends of the progressive sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the side cut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.
The directional rocker profile has an under-foot camber with a larger rocker area in the nose than in the tail. The float of the rockered nose improves manoeuvrability while the camber underfoot provides edge hold and response. The slightly rockered tail maintains power and stability but helps to keep the tail catch-free when initiating turns and landing switch. The SPOON 3D-base contours were specifically designed to provide next-level glide. The smooth radius of the SPOON nose and tail edges reduce friction at the contact points. With less friction and catch in the tips, you can maintain more speed, flow, and float. The freeride-focused Spoon 3.0 3D-base contour features an even balance of 7mm spoon bevel in the nose and 7mm spoon bevel in the tail. The spoon bevel starts at the rocker point.
The board’s flex is stiff, it will go as fast as you want without any troubles, has a very precise response and can stomp bigger airs than anyone could handle.
The new triple density Bamboo Surf wood core has bamboo stringers positioned in the pocket of the sidecut for better edge response and turning power. A dual-direction, dual-layer, stitched Biax fibreglass laminate provides a fun, forgiving and snappy ride. The sintered 9900 Base is made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and Carbon. This ultra-fast base is easy to repair thanks to the UHMW-PE. The ECO-Plastic Topsheet is made from Castor beans. This biomaterial is ultralight, chip/scratch resistant, and water/snow repellent. All Jones boards are made with oversized recycled steel edges for added durability and improved production sustainability. The ABS Sidewall material is made of 100% recycled material. Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with WEND natural wax as well as factory de-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountain. By flip flopping the base graphic colour, P-Tex waste is drastically reduced by increasing the material yield. Stainless steel reinforcement plates are embedded into the nose and tail for improved board tip durability.
"Snowboarding is not my job, it’s my life". Jones Snowboard founder Jeremy Jones explains so much in so few words. He wanted to create the ultimate snowboarding gear that lived up to even the highest standards, and he has done exactly that. The company prides itself on giving back to the wild places they so dearly cherish through actions such as 1% For the Planet. There is nothing we don't love about Jeremy Jones and his vision.
