With a soulful trip to the early days of snowboarding, Capita and Spring Break present a line of hand-crafted surfboards for the snow. Conceptualized by Corey Smith and designed by Capita, these beauties embody the heart of Corey’s garage built, oversized, plywood decks – but have been executed using the technology available in the best factory in the world. In fact, a lot of mad scientist R and D went into these bad boys at Capita MFG to create an experience like no other. The thicker, more buoyant, ultra-lightweight Surflite™ core combined with the new Surf Rocker profile and wide shouldered shapes, all work together to create zero-gravity float on top of the deepest pow. We cooked up a uniquely blended sidecut specifically designed for buttery smooth, soulful pow rips. This shape features a surf-inspired arch just past the inserts followed by a huge reverse blend zone and topped off with a ton of taper for ultimate floatation. Available in four unique shapes, the Spring Break will take you one step closer in the search for the perfect (powder) wave. The Capita Powder pill has one of the more subtle shapes of the series, but don’t let its looks fool you, this board floats and turns like no other thanks to its wide nose and tapered tail.
The Spring Break series was designed for riders that love powder and want to try surfing this magic white stuff on a shape combination of classic surf and unconventional influences.
A directional shape combined with a high degree of taper makes sure your tail stays down, and you always stay up while surfing deep powder. This geometry allows for easy turning and cruising on deep snow.
The all new Surf Rocker features a continuous arching tip and tail inspired by the modern design of many of today’s best surfboards. Flat through the inserts with smooth arching tip and tails. The gentle low angle allows for maximum float and control.
A medium-stiff flex gives you precise control at higher speeds while still allowing for enough flex to provide a soulful, surfy feel.
The Surflite Core™ was designed to create a strong, light, and buoyant core that floats to the top of the deepest powder. In surfboard design, a thicker more lively board will help the board float much easier than a thin dense one. With this inspiration, Capita developed an industry-first core featuring blocked Balsa throughout the board with strength enhancing Beech in the midsection and Poplar along the rails. In a development partnership with Union, Forged Carbon Diamond Plates were incorporated into the insert area of the core, creating the most high-tech and floatable core of all time.
No only do Capita produce some of the best snowboards on the market, but they do so whilst keeping their impact on the planet as low as possible. Their production facility, known as The Mothership, is a 100% hydro powered factory with a natural gas heating system with zero (that's right ZERO) harmful emission. Their goal is to keep the spirit and joy of snowboarding alive for generations to come. We hope to see more companies follow in their footsteps.
