Tico Pita for 3 persons

 

Tico Pita

 

Ingredients:

 

  • 1 red onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 500g mince
  • 1 glass of white wine
  • 3 pita breads
  • 1 bunch of radishes
  • 1 bunch of coriander
  • Some lettuce / spinach
  • 1 lime
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 knife-tip ground cumin
  • Salt & pepper

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

Tico Pita 2

Preparation:

 

1 Peel the onion and garlic and chop finely. Heat the oil in a pan, then gently fry the onions and garlic until soft.


2 Heat oil in a second pan over high heat, add the minced beef (use a wooden spoon to break it up) and fry for about 15 minutes, until golden brown.


3 Pour the white wine over the mince, add the onions and garlic, and simmer for 5 minutes


4 In the meantime, heat the oven to 200°C and bake the pita breads until they slowly become crispy, turn brown, and puff up.


5 Meanwhile, wash and chop the coriander and radish, then peel the avocado and cut into slices.


6 Mix the meat, radishes and coriander in a bowl, squeeze the lime over the top, then season to taste with cumin, salt and pepper, before briefly setting aside to infuse.


7 Cut the pita breads open on one side, line them with spinach/lettuce, then fill generously with the meat mixture and avocado slices


8 Tuck in!
