Film Selection

The Blondes - Janelle Yip, Emily Childs (both CAN) and Tonje Kvivik (NOR) call themselves "The Blondes" and know only one gas: full throttle. They deliver the fattest lines and the hardest freeride action ever seen from women in a film - both technically and in terms of the unbelievably beautiful shots. But the three are not mindless daredevils, they deliberately conquer male-dominated domains like big mountain skiing, wildfire fighting and helicopter flying.

Left Right - An unexpected snowboard film, in which it is "only" about riding turns and no one leaves the ground. But Samuel McMahon stages the subject so grandiose that it takes your breath away. In his search for the perfect turn, the filmmaker encounters both dreamlike locations - from the Alps to Japan - and incredible characters like France's freestyle legend Mathieu Crepel.

Cycels - How do female athletes deal with their menstrual cycle and how does it affect their performance? Johanna Brunner and Anjuna Hartmann go one step further with their equally experimental and action-packed film project "Cycles": in this all-female production, they deal openly and honestly with the transformative power that lies in the female cycle and want to sensitize viewers to their own inner phases.

22 Hours - Arctic Dreamlines - The Weger brothers from South Tyrol love challenges. And variety: Both were world-class kayakers, Matthias as part of the Austrian national team, his younger brother Jakob was a medal guarantee for Italy. But beyond that, the two are also passionate paragliders, base jumpers and freeriders - and content creators who regularly go viral with their clips on social media: @matthiaswegeradventure.

Purity - Unlike previous Snowmads productions (such as "Kastanistan" 2022 or "Ya Mas - Snowmads in Greece" 2017), "Purity" does not describe geographical adventure journeys. This time, director Lukas Schäfer is concerned with a meditative journey into the own center, a journey from darkness into light, from being alone into togetherness.

Projection - "Lost Places" atmosphere de luxe in the best arthouse manner: A team of skiers and snowboarders sets off with shovels and cameras to the ruins of alpine winter sports. They discover the architecture and infrastructure of abandoned ski resorts and the landscapes in which these facilities have been left behind. Thanks to Richard Buchner's expressive visual language and minimalist commentary, a wide variety of interpretations emerge.
