Rome Brand Profile
The Rome Snowboard Design Syndicate (SDS) had really already begun to form in 1985, even though the two future co-founders of the company, Josh Reid and Paul Mavaretz were still complete strangers to each other that winter. They were both in their last year of school and took the step that brought them together in business. This was the year that snowboarding was still in a more embryonic, rather than birth, phase – long before parks and X-Games, when very few ski resorts even allowed snowboarders to access the lifts. So Josh and Paul hiked up the local sledding slope, strapped on their prehistoric snowboards and did their first turns. That’s how, in the winter of 2000/2001, after many years of close cooperation and many hours of snowboarding together, Rome was born.
Conversations about snowboards and snowboarding were an important aspect at Rome SDS from the beginning, because permanent communication between the riders and Rome is what makes the Syndicate, the reason that
Rome Snowboards
are so good. Of course, the same goes for
Rome Bindings and
Rome Snowboard Boots.
But not only the hardgoods are an important part of Rome – their outerwear features top-notch technologies to help you out on the mountain.
Rome Snowwear
features DryTac Technology, a DWR coating and a double layered construction to guarantee that you’ll feel great in all weather conditions.
