| „DIY means
do-it-yourself. Especially when you skate DIY it is
important to improve or even build new spots according to individual
imaginations and possibilities. It starts if you fix some holes at
streetspots
and achieves the maximum if you build up a complete new skatepark.
Therefore
the craziest locations are possible: old industry areas, bridges or
indoor in a
villa at Salzburg. Unfortunately DIY-spots disappear as fast as these
spots came
up and thus also the Salzburg-villa is a park for a limited time.
The villa at Salzburg was offered from ‚Immobilien Rauscher‘ and ‚Bautraeger Domus GmbH‘ and I knew right away what I wanted to do with it: my own indoor- playground! Normally you need 2-3 weeks to come up with a setup, we had only one weekend. Therefore I inivited some Friends to help me using the 8 tons material and to create our personal skate living- room. 4 tones backfill, 800 kg cement, 1.2 tons grit and 2 tons of sand did we use to build a quarterpipe at the fireplace and a transition for the wall ride. Furthermore we built a ‚pocket‘ at the window. Like I imagined the Villa was very challenging to ride. Get to know such an unique DIY-spot and understanding the individual lines before one get along with the spot is absolutely necessary. Every time I ride a spot which I built up with my friends and my own hands is an unforgettable experience. Ride such a session in an old villa-just perfect!" |
