Globe Brand Profile

Staying fresh and being open to everything – that’s the spirit that combines all advantages in terms of innovation, design and personal expression. That is the spirit that kicked off Globe International in the 90’s and that keeps Globe running today. The people, products and programs that Globe represents are all inspired by this mindset. The founders Stephan and Peter Hill discovered their passion for skateboarding in the mid 70’ss and immediately began to push the sprouting Australian skate scene. This soon lead to several successes that became the foundations of the unique Glibe youth and lifestyle empire. In the early 80’s, skateboarding was still pretty underground, so the Hill’s decided to travel the world to work on their skills and meet their skating brothers in other countries. In 1994, they made their money by seling shoes on local markets and decks straight from their car trunk, before they finally started up a skate hardware distribution company called Hardcore Enterprises. Next to their daily skate sessions, they put their entire energy in to supporting skateboarders, which made Globe really come to life at the beginning of the 90’s.

Globe began with the wish to create an authentic skate footwear alternative for the action sports industry. Their shoes were designed and developed by active skaters and surfers who were enthusastic about creating their own products. Today, Globe continue to produce Globe Shoes and Globe Streetwear, that combine style, performance, comfort and durability.
