Marker Squire 11 2024 Ski Bindings

I'm Jakob, I've been working at Blue Tomato for more than half a year and I've been skiing since I was 6 years old - so 16 years now. I'm about 1.80 metres tall and weigh 80 kilos. I mainly ski all-mountain and occasionally freestyle, which is why this binding is my choice. I chose a width of 90 to match my skis and it was easy to fit.

This binding is my first own binding and has brought me down every terrain optimally. I mainly use it for all-mountain, but it has also provided great support for small jumps in the park or freeriding. As this is my first binding for all-mountain, I first had to get used to it, but after a few descents the binding adapted perfectly to my skis and my skiing style. The wide DIN range also makes the binding ideal for the different terrains I want to ski with it. Especially as a beginner, the Squire 11 offers excellent power transmission and the low stand height ensures a very direct feeling when guiding the skis. The quality of workmanship is also very good and all parts of the binding were sufficiently lubricated so that it worked straight away. The weight of the binding also makes it ideal if, like me, you want to stay relatively mobile in your equipment, as the Squire 11 is quite light. Thanks to the Gripwalk technology, I was able to continue using my boots and I didn't notice any compromises compared to bindings without Gripwalk.

So for me it's the perfect binding, as I was looking for an affordable, lightweight binding that can still be skied on all terrains without compromise.

When I bought an entry level freestyle ski to ride with it in the park, on groomers or in poor conditions, I didn't want to spend to much money for the bindings, but on the other side I wanted reliable and safe bindings that could handle it all. And I wound it in the Marker Squire 11.

As I owned numerous Marker Griffon bindings over the last couple of years, I learned that the Griffon performs extremly well, but on the other hand the DIN range has still a lot of space - I am an experienced skier, but I only weight 75 kg - which means that the Squire should handle my weight well. The build quality of the Marker Squire is good and can be compared to the more expensive Griffon. The binding is stable, they release when they need to, they offer a variety of different brake widths and can acommodate different boots.

The Marker Squire binding is a great option for park or resort skiers as well a beginners. The DIN range goes only up to 11, which means that it is not really suitable for heavier skiers but will perform rock solid if you are a lighter skier and you are not hitting big kickers.
